Reporting from gonintendo, Kirby’s appearance in the Fortnite trailer caused controversy. Epic Games has launched a new, more relaxed event called “Party Royale” where players can relax and watch some short performances by famous DJs.
Right at the start of the trailer, you can catch a glimpse of Kirby on video. The location of its appearance under a bridge that appears at the beginning of the trailer. It’s possible that one of the DJs shown when this trailer was made has an interest in Kirby. It’s unclear whether Nintendo gave permission for this appearance.
However, if you look at the trailer for the Sony (Playstation) and Microsoft (Xbox) versions, you can see that the image is censored. In the same trailer added to the Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One channels on YouTube, where Kirby has been censored. Possibly both companies censor Kirby, it looks like they’re trying to avoid problems with Nintendo or Nintendo might ask for the censorship themselves.
