Activision has released a behind-the-scenes video of Barry Sloane’s audition to voice Captain John Price. With Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki, Sloane explains what his childhood dream was to play Modern Warfare and met Captain Price. Kurosaki who auditioned admitted that he and his team did not explain the role that Sloane had to play as Price, but as Commander Sykes. After he found out that Sloane would be “the next Captain Price”, he gave him one of the scripts. It made Sloane surprised and had no idea that the audition for video game acting was being worked on.

Sloane also explained the difference between acting in front of a camera and making a video game which he said was very different. According to him, making a film can position itself according to the direction of the camera when highlighting it. He also knows where to walk and act. Meanwhile, video games with motion capture are more difficult because they don’t know where to act and can’t be aware of the camera in front of them. You can watch more in the video above.
